Wellesley High 1963
Our 50th Reunion - October 11-12, 2013
Dear Classmates,

After considering the many options, we are pleased to announce that our 50th Reunion will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel located off Route 128 in Waltham, MA, a short 10-minute jaunt from Wellesley.

The criteria we used in locating a venue was to provide lodging on site, negotiate the best price for both the cost of the reunion and the blocked rooms, create an inclusive ticket price that would be affordable to the greatest number of classmates, and be within easy access to Wellesley. We want this reunion to be an event as many classmates as are able can attend and it should be fun for everyone.

Consensus was to avoid Thanksgiving weekend, so the dates will be Columbus Day Weekend, October 11-12, 2013.

Plans are for a Reception in the Mezzanine at the hotel on Friday evening October 11th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. If you would like to help sponsor and embellish this event, donations would be most welcome. We are hoping the Country Squires will regroup to entertain us.

The Main Event, on October 12th, will start with a Reception from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Mezzanine followed by a Buffet Dinner in the Drake Ballroom from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Tickets are all inclusive will be $95.00 per person.

We will be able to set up blocked rooms with the hotel. Although we can't guarantee prices until we get closer to the date, we are hoping for around $99 a room. (If you are staying at the hotel, a full breakfast is included.) We have been told that reservations can be made as early as October 1, 2012.

As this is a very popular weekend, I wanted to get an early start in booking this event so you could all make note of the date and plan accordingly. The hotel will be looking to me for the number of attendees, so I would appreciate your support in letting me know ASAP whether you plan to attend.

We can accept funds for tickets now and donations are always welcome. Checks should be made out to "Wellesley High School Class of '63" and sent to my South Hiram, Maine address. And in answer to the frequently asked question: Your estate will be reimbursed if you send money now and don't make it to the reunion :-).

Also, the more e-mails I have, the less postage we pay for the mailings. So far we have had wonderful response.

As further plans for the weekend develop, I will keep you posted via e-mail and on our website.

Again, please let me know if YOU have a change of address or change in e-mail. The lost list will be kept on this Web Site, and updated regularly.

Best Regards,
Art

Embassy Suites is an all-suites hotel set around a core atrium with all rooms overlooking the middle. Every room has a separate sitting area with a pullout sofa, a wet bar, microwave and refrigerator. A complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast is included. Our cocktail party will be in the Mezzanine (above right) and the Main Event Dinner will be in the Drake Ballroom (below). The hotel also offers a fitness center, indoor pool, restaurant (The Grille at Hobbs Brook) and a bar (The Atrium Lounge) as well as easily accessible complimentary parking. If you remember the old Sylvania plant on 128, the hotel is located where their parking lot used to be.
